Sources Pane

The Sources pane of the Master Control screen displays the connected encoders, receivers, and transmitters as individual tiles. The Sources pane includes a toolbar at the top to allow you to configure how you want to view your source tiles:

Use the  Filter  Sources Filter button in the toolbar to make the number of tiles more manageable by changing the selections on the dropdown menus to display only the selected source types or status.

Use the  Groups icon Groups Filter button in the toolbar to make the number of tiles more manageable by changing the selections on the dropdown menus to display only the selected groups.

You can also use the search text box to quickly find the source appliances you desire (see the following note). Select an appliance label or type a string in the text box.

Note

  • As you type in the search text box, the list of sources and labels in the search dropdown updates in real-time. However, this only searches the source and label names. Select the desired source appliance or label from the dropdown.

  • After typing and pressing Enter key, the following fields are searched: appliance name, type, firmware version, destination device name, description, group name, labels, and serial number (transmitters).

  • For each additional string or label you enter an AND operation is performed by the search.

The  AR_grid_view.png Tile (icon) view icon switches the display of the source tiles into a simplified grid view. See the following section for more details.

The  AR_list_view.png Detailed view icon switches the display of the source tiles to a detailed list view. See the following section for more details.


Tile and Detailed Views

Clicking the  AR_grid_view.png and  AR_list_view.png icons switches the display of the source tiles. See the information in the following tabs for the description of each view:

Tile View

In  Tile icon Tile view, each source tile consists of a thumbnail preview (except for Makito X Encoders and External Sources) and various status and control items.

Stream Status

Colored bar indicates the current status of the stream.

Green Live, File Forward (Transmitters), or Record (Transmitters)
Blue Running (but not Live)
Yellow Warning
Gray Inactive/Offline
Purple  Starting
Red Error

If the stream is currently Live, File Forwarding, or Recording, a corresponding status box appears under the bar:  Status Live Status Forward , and  Status Record .

Note

  • When a transmitter is in data bridge mode, a  AR_data_bridge.png icon appears in the tile next to the Stream Status:

  • When a transmitter’s reported temperature is in the warning or critical level, a  Temperature warning icon or  Temperature critical icon icon appears in the tile next to the Stream Status:

Input Video Source (Makito only)

Shows the assigned video source for the stream.

Video Encoder Core (Makito or Pro4 only)

Indicates the assigned video encoder core for the stream.

Start/Start Stream buttons

Buttons to start/stop the Live stream.

Expand Stream Details button

Expands the tile to show detailed information about the source, including bitrate graphs, options to change the latency and change the maximum bitrate, and modem status (field units only). SeeViewing Source Status for more details.

Not available for External Sources.

Stream Name and Bitrate

Shows the name of the stream and the current received bitrate.

Input Audio Source (Makito only)

Shows the assigned audio source for the stream.

Volume Meters

Indicates the current left/right channel volume. Only appears when the stream is Live.

Button to show more options for the source, allowing you to access the source web interface  Remote control icon or go directly to the source appliance in the Appliances menu  Appliances icon .

Detailed View

In  Detailed view icon Detailed view, the same information from tile view is available, plus additional statistics and status.

Note

Detailed view is not available for External Sources.

Bitrate

Instantaneous bitrate of the source stream.

Elapsed Time

If applicable, the elapsed time of the source being Live.

Device Type and Version

Lists the appliance model and current firmware version.

Bitrate Graph

Graph of the bitrate for the previous five minutes.

Latency and Capped Bitrate

Current defined values

  • Transmitters: Values may be changed during a Live stream.

  • Makito Series: When offline, only capped bitrate can be changed. When online, both values can be changed. Values also persist after stopping/stopping a connection.
