Creating a Real-Time Transcoding Process Hublet
The RTT Hublet provides greater flexibility in routing workflows by allowing users to convert source streams between HEVC and H.264 as well as changing resolution, frame rate, and bitrate in real-time. Additionally, the RTT Hublet is excellent as stabilizing sources with varying frame rate and resolutions, to deliver a consistent signal to broadcast workflows. The Real-Time Transcoding Hublet is placed in-line between the Input Hublet you've selected and one or more output paths, delivering the converted stream to the attached outputs.
Note
If you want to create an Adaptive Bit Rate (ABR) package for streaming multiple renditions of your content, consider Creating an Akamai Output Hublet Preset.
To create a preset for a RTT Process Hublet:
- In the Admin Area, select Preset Creator towards the top of the screen.
- Click the New Preset button and select the preset you wish to create.
- Select Real Time Transcoder from the New Preset drop-down menu.
The main pane is then populated with the needed parameter fields. In the main pane under Basic Parameters, enter a name for the Hublet.
Tip
Use a descriptive name for the Hublet so that your team recognizes it as the one to use for a particular asset or use case.
- Next, select an Encoder Preset name.
Under Encode Parameters, customize the settings as appropriate. See Real-Time Transcoder Parameters. NOTE: These settings should match your device's settings.
- When finished, click the Create Preset button at bottom of screen.
