Importing and Exporting Your Settings

You can now save and transfer your InfoCenter site settings between browsers or devices using our new Import/Export Profile feature. This includes all of your customized settings stored in your browser’s local storage, such as Favorites, Bookmarks, sidebar preferences, and other personalization options.

Exporting Your Profile

  1. Open the InfoCenter in the browser where your settings are already customized.

  2. Click User Preferences in the sidebar. The User Preferences dialog appears:

    User Preferences
    User Preferences
  3. Under User Profile, click the Export button.

  4. A .json file is downloaded to your device.

    • This file contains all of your current InfoCenter settings.

Tip

Keep this file in a safe place if you want to reuse it later.

Importing a Profile

Note

Importing will overwrite your existing settings with the ones in the file.

  1. Open the InfoCenter in the browser or device where you want to apply your saved settings.

  2. Click User Preferences in the sidebar. The User Preferences dialog appears:

    User Preferences
    User Preferences
  3. Under User Profile, click the Import button.

  4. Select the .json file you previously exported.

  5. When the success notification appears, refresh your browser for the new settings to take effect.

Notes & Tips

  • Sharing settings within your company: You may choose to export your customized setup and share the .json file with colleagues. This way, everyone starts with the same consistent view of Haivision documentation for your purchased products.

  • Editing the file: Advanced users may edit the .json file to change settings manually. You do not need to include all key/value pairs from local storage. For example, you may only want to save Favorites or Bookmarks. The rest of the key/value pairs can be removed from the file. However, do not alter the special __salt and __hash values. These are required to validate the file and confirm it was generated by our site.

Why Use Import/Export?

  • Switch devices easily. Carry your settings from your work computer to your laptop or mobile.

  • Back up your preferences. Save your setup so you can restore it later if needed.

  • Stay consistent. Keep Favorites, Bookmarks, sidebar preferences, and other settings the same everywhere.

  • Standardize company views. Roll out a consistent, pre-configured setup across your team.
