Deploying Virtualized StreamHub
This quick start guide describes how to create and configure a virtual StreamHub server, using cloud computing platforms such as:
- Amazon Web Service (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Alibaba cloud.
- a VMware platform.
About Cloud computing platforms
Cloud computing platforms can be used to build, deploy and manage the StreamHub application and its services through a network of hosted data centers.
Please note that you must have an active account to sign in to the platform management portal.
For evaluation purposes you can subscribe for a free trial period.
For more information, please visit the website of the platform you choose:

VM and Cloud recommendations
Virtual host minimal configuration
The host configuration for VM deployment scenario highly depends on intended load usages; we propose below typical profiles with associated recommendations.
Usage | Recommendation | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Profile | Number of HD* decoding | Number of HD* Transcoding | vCPUs** | RAM | Storage*** |
Lite | 4 | 1 | 8 | 16 GB | 100 GB |
Standard | 8 | 2 | 16 | 32 GB | 100 GB |
Ultra | 16 | 4 | 32 | 64 GB | 100 GB |
For deployment on public cloud services, we recommend using computing optimized virtual machines (e.g. Fs v2 on Azure, c7i on AWS, C2 on GCP, c8i on AliCloud, …) that meet the above recommendation regarding numbers of virtual CPUs and amount of RAM.
* HD: 1920x1080p30 4:2:0 8 bits 10Mbps.
** vCPU recommended base frequency above 2.7Ghz.
*** Minimum storage for system and application, should be adapted in case of needed media storage.
