Configuring ST 2110 Inputs
Note
SMPTE ST 2110 input requires the following:
- An MSA compliant 10Gbps Ethernet NIC installed in the encoder's SFP+ port (see Connect to the Network),
- The SMPTE ST 2110 license installed on the encoder (see Managing Licenses),
- The encoder Personality set to "ST 2110", either from the Web Interface Settings>System page (see Managing System Status Information) or via the personality CLI command.
The Makito X4 Encoder with an MSA compliant 10Gbps Ethernet NIC installed in the SFP+ port can ingest and encode SMPTE ST 2110 compliant content containing active video, audio and ancillary metadata. The number of streams being generated depends on the total throughput capabilities of the Makito X4 Encoder. Up to four (4) ST 2110 ingest streams are supported, each containing a mix of video, audio, or ancillary data flows (such as subtitling or closed captioning). The total aggregate SMPTE ST 2110 ingest limit is sufficient to support a UHDp30 input image without compression.
In order to set up ST 2110 inputs, the encoder Personality must be set to "ST 2110", either from the Web Interface Settings>System page or via the personality CLI command. This Personality will only appear if the SMPTE ST 2110 license is installed.
From the Inputs pages, you can create multiple SMPTE ST 2110 essences as input sources, either video, audio or ancillary data. You can delete, start and stop essences from the Inputs List View, as well as select existing essences to view and configure. Then, when configuring your video encoders, audio encoders, and metadata, you can select these inputs to incorporate into your streaming outputs.
Inputs List View
To open the Inputs List View:
- Click Streaming on the sidebar, and select the Inputs tab.
The Inputs List View opens, displaying the list of defined ST 2110 input essences created for the encoder.
The Inputs List View displays the status, Input Name, ID, Input Number, Media Type, Destination Address and Port, and RTP Payload for each input essence. - From here, you can perform the following tasks:
- To create an input, click the Add Input button.
- To view details or modify the settings for an input essence, click the Settings icon to open the Input Essence Detail View.
To view the input essence statistics (including the input's Status), click the Statistics icon .
From here, you can also reset the input essence statistics by clicking Reset.Tip
To expand or collapse the statistics or settings details for all inputs at one time, hold the shift key and click the Statistics icon or Settings icon on any input.
- To change the status for an existing input essence, click the Start/Stop icon /.
- You can also Stop, Start, or Delete an input essence by checking the checkbox to the right of the input panel and clicking the Start, Stop, or Delete buttons at the top of the list.
From the Sort dropdown menu, you can sort the inputs by Ascending or Descending order, as well as by ID, Name, Address, Type, Status, or Input.
- To apply your changes, click Apply.
