If you downgrade to a pre-1.4 release, do not use the personality command. Although it is available (it was in place as a test feature), it requires release 1.4 or later to run properly, and you risk your encoder ending up in a reboot loop.

The personality command is used to manage the Makito X4 Encoder personality, to switch between SDI, SQD, DEFENSE, and SMPTE ST 2110. For the latter, an SMPTE ST 2110 license must be installed. This setting will take effect upon the next reboot. For details, see Configuring ST 2110 Inputs and Configuring SQD Inputs.

Parameters

Parameter	Default	Description/Values
TYPE	SDI	Switches between SDI, SQD, DEFENSE, and SMPTE 2110 input. This setting will take effect upon the next reboot. Values: `SDI`, `SQD`, `Defense`, or `2110`.

Returns the following confirmation:

Personality updated successfully.
A REBOOT is required for the new personality to take effect.
