Creating a Makito Hublet Preset

The Haivision award-winning H.264 and HEVC video encoders and decoders enable ultra low-latency end-to-end transport of secure, high-quality high-definition (HD) video, even over unpredictable networks.

The Haivision next-generation Makito X4 is a highly-secure, ultra low-latency HEVC and H.264 video encoder, featuring exceptional video quality, next-level performance, SRT streaming, and the highest available 4K UHD and HD encoding density. The award-winning Makito X H.264 and HEVC encoders transport secure, low-latency HD video over any network at extremely low bitrates, making them ideal for live, interactive and bandwidth constrained applications such as live broadcast contribution, remote production, enterprise, and defense applications.

Creating a Makito Hublet Preset

The Haivision Hub Preset Creator allows users to configure encoder settings for the Makito X/X4 video and audio encoders and then store these for use in routing workflows with the Makito X Hublet. Presets are created for each type of encoder and only the presets appropriate to the model of encoder you select will be available in the Makito X Hublet.

To create a preset:

  1. In the
    Admin Area, select Preset Creator
towards the top of the screen.
  2. Click the New Preset button
and select the preset you wish to create.

Choose from the following menu items depending on whether you are creating a video or audio preset.

Makito Video Preset

To create a Makito Video Preset:

  1. Select Encoder Video from the New Preset drop-down menu.
  2. In the main pane under Encoding Parameters, enter a name for the Hublet.

    Tip

Use a descriptive name for the Hublet so that your team recognizes it as the one to use for a particular asset or use case.

The main pane is then populated with the needed parameter fields.

  3. Next, select an Encoder Preset name.
  4. Under Encoding Parameters, customize the settings as appropriate. These settings should match your device's settings (e.g., for your Makito, you could view an example at Makito Encoder Parameters).
  5. When finished, click the Create Preset button at bottom of screen.
Makito Audio Preset

To create a Makito Audio Preset:

  1. Select Encoder Audio from the New Preset drop-down menu.
