Version History
Makito X Version 2.4
Makito X Version 2.4 introduced the following new features and enhancements to existing capabilities:
Haivision EMS Pairing
Haivision EMS enables customers to centrally manage multiple Makito Encoders and Decoders over a network, including status monitoring and firmware upgrades. For managing a large installed base, Makito's can also be labelled and organized into groups. Haivision EMS can now be used to discover, manage and monitor the Makito X4 Encoder.
ONVIF Support and Milestone Integration
Customers can now manage Makito X Encoders from the Milestone XProtect video management software (VMS) using the ONVIF protocol and API. This functionality is a licensed feature and must be purchased using the SWO-292E-ONVIF part number.
RTSP Support to a Milestone server
Customers can now stream video feeds from the Makito X Encoder to a Milestone server for archiving and analysis using the RTSP protocol.
HTTP Strict Transport Security
The Makito X now supports HTTP Strict-Transport-Security (abbreviated as HSTS) that forces web browsers to only contact the Web interface over HTTPS, instead of using HTTP.
Current Temperature of the Board Available on Web Interface and via SNMP
Remote SNMP users as well as Web interface users need to read the temperature of the board, in particular, when the cooling has failed for the Makito. The current board temperature is now shown in the Web interface and via SNMP in deg C. (It was already available from the CLI using the temperature command.)
Makito X Encoder v2.3
Makito X Version 2.3 introduced the following new features and enhancements to existing capabilities:
IPv6 Support
The Makito X now supports deployment on IPv6 or mixed IPv6/IPv4 networks in addition to the existing IPv4 network support. This includes IPv6 network and device administration and streaming support.
SRT Streaming Stats in SNMP
SRT streams can be monitored in real-time using an SNMP network management system (NMS). The SNMP MIB now includes SRT statistics which are useful for monitoring the health of an SRT link.
Device Discovery Aids
Enhancements have been added to allow easier determination of the IP address or location of a Makito X device. These include the display of the device IP address on the serial port login prompt (SDI encoder blades/appliances only), as well as enhancements to encourage the use of mDNS for easier device discovery on a network.
Device Location (Blinking LEDs)
The Makito X face-plate LEDs can be optionally set to blink which allows easy location of the device in large server room deployments. For example, the blinking LEDs can be used to help identify a specific blade in a rack.
Security Enhancements
The operator and user accounts are now locked at factory to minimize the chances of unauthorized access.
Streaming to NGINX servers
The Makito X Encoder now supports RTMP streams to NGINX servers.
Ubuntu NFS Server
NFS shared drives from Ubuntu servers can now be mounted on Makito X Encoders with Storage.
