Start by assigning an IP address to the StreamHub server on your network. This can be done in two ways:

Using DHCP

If you have DHCP available on the network you will be using:

  1. Connect LAN 1 on the StreamHub server (BLUE dust cap) to your switch/router aa.png using the ethernet cable provided in your kit.

  2. Connect the provided power cable to the StreamHub bb.png and press the power button to turn it on. Wait 3 minutes for the server to complete its startup sequence.

  3. Obtain the assigned IP address of the StreamHub in one of the following ways:

    1. by using a network scanner (search for MyStreamHub in the host name)

    2. by connecting a VGA monitor and keyboard to StreamHub and viewing the IP Settings from the StreamHub console

  4. From a web browser on your laptop/workstation dd.png navigate to the StreamHub's assigned IP address.

Using Static IP

Alternatively, if you must use static IP Address assignment on the network you will be using:

  1. Connect LAN 2 on the StreamHub server (RED dust cap) to your laptop or workstation cc.png using the ethernet cable provided in your kit.

  2. Configure the network settings on your laptop/workstation dd.png as follows:

    1. IP Address:  192.168.4.5

    2. Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

    3. Disable any other network connections (WiFi, other ethernet cards, etc.)

  3. Connect the power cable to the StreamHub bb.png and press the power button to turn it on. Wait 3 minutes for the server to complete its startup sequence.

  4. From your laptop/workstation dd.png open an SSH connection to 192.168.4.3 on port 5322 (ssh -p 5322 config@192.168.4.3) using the following credentials:

    1. Username: config

    2. Password: #####

  5. In the console that appears, enter 2 (IP Settings):

  7. Edit the settings with the static IP address to be used on your network:

    => choice :

  8. Exit from the console interface.

  9. Connect LAN 1 on the StreamHub server ( BLUE dust cap) to your switch/router aa.png using the ethernet cable provided in your kit.

  10. Re-configure the network settings on your laptop/workstation  dd.png , and in a web browser navigate to the StreamHub's assigned IP address.

Once you have network connectivity established and can see the StreamHub login page in your web browser, do the following:

  1. Enter the default credentials (you will be prompted to change the password)

  2. Ask your network administrator to configure your router/firewall to forward TCP and UDP traffic to the internal IP address of the StreamHub.

  3. Ask your network administrator for the public IP address to be used for the StreamHub.

  4. Connect the StreamHub SDI 1 output ( GREEN dust cap) to your display/monitor ee.png using the SDI cable provided in your kit.

Next, set up the transmitter unit:

  1. The transmitter is shipped with a fully-charged battery

  2. ff.png
  3. , but you can also connect the power adapter gg.png provided.

  4. Press the power button hh.png to turn on the transmitter unit. Wait about a minute for the unit to complete its startup sequence.

  5. Configure the destination profile to Local StreamHub.

    1. On the front panel tap AR_settings.svg .

    2. Tap AR_arrow_right_thin.svg and then tap AR_profiles_destination.svg .

    3. Tap AR_arrow_down_thin.svg until the Local StreamHub profile is displayed, and then and then tap the AR_selector_outline.svg symbol to select it. A green dot AR_selector_with_checkmark.svg confirms the selection.

  6. Change the Transmitter configuration to point to the public IP address of the on-prem StreamHub.

  7. Press the AR_play_filled green HEX.svg Go live button ii.png . The transmitter generates a dynamic pattern of coloured circles as a video stream and sends it the StreamHub server jj.png , which relays the stream to your display/monitor.

And that's it! You've successfully streamed a live video from your location over a cellular network to a local monitor!

Important

When you're finished, stop the live stream on the transmitter  by doing the following:

  1. On the live preview screen, tap  AR_arrow_right_thin.svg .

  2. Tap AR_stop_filled green HEX.svg , and then tap STOP LIVE .

Turn the transmitter off by applying a long press to the power button (see Returning the Eval Kit).

More to Explore

If you'd like to push this demo a little further, here is something you can try:

  • Instead of using the coloured circle stream, you can connect a live SDI source to the transmitter ( GREEN dust cap) and change the source selection to test the workflow with real-life content.

Changing the video input settings on the transmitter

By default, the transmitter is configured to deliver an internal coloured circles pattern. To switch from the pattern to an SDI input, do the following:

  1. On the front panel, press _avi_Unit_Settings.png , and then press _avi_Unit_IO_Settings.png .

  2. Press Video Source and select SDI 1.

  3. Press _avi_Unit_Back.png to return to the Settings menu.

  4. Press _avi_Unit_Play_Settings.png , and then select Live H264.

  5. Press _avi_Unit_Back.png until you return to the Main menu.

  6. Press _avi_Unit_Play_Settings.png , and then _avi_Unit_Play_Blue.png .

You will see a preview of the live stream on the front panel screen (after a short period, the screen locks and displays the message "Operation in progress").
