Physical Installation

To physically install and set up the Makito X Series encoder or decoder, do the following:  

1. Position the Makito X Series device in its intended operational environment. Refer to the associated guide for instructions on setting up the device, for example, "Installing the Encoder" or "Installing the Decoder".

2. Connect a trusted computer to the network port of the device, referring to the associated guide for instructions on connecting the network interface.
   Alternatively, you may connect a trusted computer to the serial port (if available) on the device, referring to the instructions on connecting the serial interface.

   

   Note

   The serial interface is available on the Makito X SDI and Storage encoders as well as Rugged and Harsh models. The Makito X4 Rugged encoder provides an audio/serial port.

3. Power up the device, referring to the associated guide for instructions on powering up the unit.
