Common Audit Event Fields

The variables listed below correspond to fields that commonly appear in log entries (audit event records).

  • <date>  Date of log entry.
  • <time>  Time of log entry.
  • <log_source>  Address or domain name of the machine from which the log entries are generated.
  • <user_name>  Name of user referred to in the log entries.
  • <host_address>  Type of host used to connect to the encoder or decoder. If connected via SSH, the IP address or domain name of the host the user is working from is shown. Otherwise, the variable is set to COMport if the user is connected through the serial port, or to WebClient if actions are performed through the Web Interface.
  • <target_user>  Name of the user who is affected by the actions performed by the logged-in admin user.
  • <process_name>  Name of the process that is generating the log entry in question.
  • <process_id>  ID of the process that is generating the log entry in question.
  • <event_result>  Denotes the result of the logged event. Format: result=succeeded|failed.
  • <error>  Included in the log entry in the case where the event in question fails. Format: error="error message"
