Stream-Play Settings

The following table lists the Quick and Advanced stream play controls and settings.

Tip

These settings can be configured when starting a new stream, and after the stream has been saved. See Manage Saved Streams

SettingDefaultDescription/Values
TypeSRTThe protocol type for the stream. Either SRT or UDP.
ModeListener / Unicast

The streaming mode. These values change depending on the stream type.

  • For SRT streams, options are: Caller, Listener, or Rendezvous

  • For UDP streams, options are: Unicast or Multicast
Port5000

The destination port (i.e. the port on the player side). Values can be 1...65535.

Note

Ensure that this port matches the Destination Port in the source stream settings.

Latency20The desired stream latency. Values can be 20...8000.
Network InterfaceAuto

On devices with multiple network interfaces, open the drop-down menu to select the network that will receive streams for playback. When set to Auto, network routes defined on the host machine drive network routing behavior for DNS URL queries and multicast IGMP requests (most often using the configured default gateway).

Tip

When the network interface is set to Auto, and the mode is set to SRT Listener, SRT Rendezvous, or UDP Unicast, the stream loading screen will indicate the Local Address being used.

  • Open the dropdown menu to select a different Local Address.
  • Click Copy to copy the current Local Address (which can be used to configure your remote source).
  • Click Cancel to cancel the stream.
Program NumberN/A

For MPEG2 Transport Stream sources having multiple program streams, enter the Program Number of the media content you would like to play.  If the stream is saved, the Program Number entered here will be the default program when playing the saved stream. Values can be 0...65535.

When the Program Number is left empty, Play ISR will automatically play the first program available in the Program Association Table (PAT).  The first option may not be the program with the lowest number, as the PAT index does not necessarily list programs in numerical order.

Note

You can always select a different program from the saved streams list, or from the save stream dropdown menu. See Manage Saved Streams and Manage Stream-Play

EncryptionDisabled(SRT streams only) Enable this feature to encrypt the stream with a passphrase.
PassphraseN/A(SRT streams only) When Encryption is enabled, enter a passphrase to enhance the stream's security. The passphrase must be between 10 - 79 characters.
Stream URLN/A

The URL of the stream you wish to play. This setting is mandatory in the Quick play and Advanced play settings.

Play ISR supports both SRT and UDP streams configured with IPv4 or IPv6.

To copy the stream URL, click the Copy icon

. A green check mark
will appear to indicate that the URL has been copied.

Note

If you are launching a URL from the command line, the URL will be added to the Recent streams list.

Add to Saved StreamsDisabled

Enable to save this stream to your video player. This setting is available in the Quick play and Advanced play settings.

Tip

If you are saving an SRT stream with a passphrase, the passphrase will be encrypted before saving.

Stream NameN/A

When Add to Saved Streams is enabled, type in a unique name for the stream here. This will identify the stream among the saved streams in your video player.

Tip

Hover over long stream names to reveal the full name.
