The Makito X HEVC Rugged enclosure provides rugged connectors for connecting the encoder's Video, Audio, Serial, and Power inputs, as well as the Network interface. All connectors are located on the front panel, as well as three LEDs that indicate power and video encoding status.

POWER | Power Status | Bi-color power indicator (Green when power is OK): - Slow blinking green when powering up.
- Solid green when booted.
- Fast blinking green, and after 5 seconds fast blinking red, when starting Reset.
- Slow blinking red and then back to power up (i.e., slow blinking green) during Reset.
