Configuring ST 2110 Inputs

Note

SMPTE ST 2110 input requires the following:

The Makito X4 Encoder with an MSA compliant 10Gbps Ethernet NIC installed in the SFP+ port can ingest and encode SMPTE ST 2110 compliant content containing active video, audio and ancillary metadata. The number of streams being generated depends on the total throughput capabilities of the Makito X4 Encoder. Up to four (4) ST 2110 ingest streams are supported, each containing a mixed of video, audio, or ancillary data flows (such as subtitling or closed captioning). The total aggregate SMPTE ST 2110 ingest limit is sufficient to support a UHDp30 input image without compression.

SMPTE ST 2110 is a licensed feature, and the encoder Personality (either SDI or ST 2110) must be selected either from the Web Interface Admin>Status page or via the personality CLI command.

From the Inputs pages, you can create multiple SMPTE ST 2110 essences as input sources, either video, audio or ancillary data. You can delete, start and stop essences from the Inputs List View, as well as select existing essences to view and configure. Then, when configuring your video encoders, audio encoders, and metadata, you can select these inputs to incorporate into your streaming outputs.

Inputs List View

To open the Inputs List View:

  1. On the Streaming page, click Inputs on the sidebar.
The Inputs List View opens, displaying the list of defined ST 2110 input essences created for the encoder.

The Inputs List View displays the status LED, Input Name, Type, Destination Address and Port, RTP Payload, and Input Number for each input essence.
  2. From here, you can perform the following tasks:
    • To create an input, click the
      Add button.
    • To view details or modify the settings for an input essence, click a link in the table to open the Input Essence Detail View.
    • To view the status of an input essence, hover over the status LED (to the left of the row).
      LED Status Indicator
    • To change the status for an existing input essence, click the drop-down list under Action and select either Start or Stop (as applicable), or Delete.
    • To sort the inputs by status, Name, Type, Address, Payload, or Input (number), you can click on a column header to sort by that column. The first click sorts by ascending order, indicated by an up arrow next to the column header. Clicking again sorts by descending order, indicated by a down arrow next to the column header.

  3. To apply your changes, click Apply
