Alerts and Possible Actions

The following table provides possible actions to the system alerts that you might encounter.

Alert Description

Possible Actions

An output has become disconnected.

Archive file [file name] has experienced an error: [error message].

  • Check disk space and permissions (see Viewing System Activity).

  • Check archive file (see Accessing the Archive Folder).

Audio buffer reached its limit.

  • Check network bandwidth between transcoder and CDN or FMS server (see Having Issues with CDN Streams).

  • Check CPU usage on transcoder (see Dashboard or System Status Bar).

Channel has failed to restart.

  • Manually start channel (see Starting a Channel).

Channel has HLS (HTTP) segments that were not uploaded due to low upload bandwidth.

  • Check bandwidth (see Dashboard or System Status Bar).

  • Edit channel configuration to lower bandwidth usage (see Assigning Video and Audio Encoders to the Output Streams).

Encoder has experienced a general error: [error message];

  • Record the error message and contact Customer Support for assistance (see Getting Help).

Encoder removed a channel [channel name] because it has passed a set restart limit.

  • Reboot the encoder.

  • Start the channel. (See Starting a Channel).

Input audio stream is expecting [expected Hz] Hz, but is near [current Hz].

  • Check the configuration of the source encoder.

  • Check the channel configuration (see Step 2 Input Configuration).

Input does not have enough bandwidth to receive input stream.

Input video stream is expecting [expected fps] fps, but is near [current fps].

  • Check the configuration of the source encoder.

  • Check the channel configuration (see Step 2 Input Configuration).

License violation encountered.

  • Add a license (see Licensing the KB Encoder).

RTMP input stream has become disconnected.

  • Verify the source encoder is operating (see Getting Help).

RTMP input stream is receiving an unexpected audio format. Expected: [an audio format] Receiving: [an audio format].

  • Check that the source encoder's output settings match the input settings (see Step 2 Input Configuration and Step 4 Output Configuration).

RTMP input stream is receiving an unexpected video format. Expected: [a video format] Receiving: [a video format].

  • Check that the source encoder's output settings match the input settings (see Step 2 Input Configuration and Step 4 Output Configuration).

TS input stream is receiving an unexpected audio format. Expected: Expected: [an audio format] Receiving: [an audio format].

  • Check that the source encoder's output settings match the input settings (see Step 2 Input Configuration and Step 4 Output Configuration).

TS input stream is receiving an unexpected video format. Expected: Expected: [a video format] Receiving: [a video format].

  • Check that the source encoder's output settings match the input settings (see Step 2 Input Configuration and Step 4 Output Configuration).

Video buffer reached its limit of [limit fps] frames.
