Upgrade Preparation

This topic describes the tasks to prepare for updating from Command 360 or CineNet to Command 360 4.4. Unless otherwise noted, all steps are required and should be completed before going to the customer site.

Note

The process will differ if the system has a Manager appliance, or the upgrade is from CineNet to Command 360.

1. Understand the upgrade process, estimated downtime, and features/workflows that do not correlate in Command 360. See the section titled "Not Supported" below.
2. If necessary, make any network firewall modifications. See the Command 360 Port Documentation for more information.
3. Obtain software license keys and hardware materials:
   • Windows 10 LTSC 2021 License for CineNet to Command 360 upgrades.
     If upgrading a Command 360 appliance, the existing Windows 10 LTSC license can be used. A new Windows 10 LTSC license is necessary for any CineNet to Command 360 upgrade.
     
     
   • Macrium LTSC license.
     The MAC address from each appliance is needed to obtain a Macrium license. You need one license for each Site/Command 360 Manager, Alpha FX video processor, and CineAgent appliance.
     
     

   • Command 360 Pro/Elite license.
     Most Command 360 systems already have a compliant license. Best practice in this case is to relicense. Command 360 Standard and Device Control Lite licenses will not function properly.
     
     

   • Obtain appliance hard drives.
     The ISO process will not function if the device has less than 500 GB. CineMassive and some older Haivision CineAgent 4 appliances require a hard drive upgrade.

4. Obtain two USB drives with up to 25 GB of storage.

   

   Note

   You cannot use the same drive for both BIOS and ISO processes.

   1. Create BIOS drive (~15 Mb file).

   2. Create Windows/Command 360 ISO drive (~22 GB file).

      

      Important

      Do not clone USB drives. Create a new ISO with Rufus.

Not Supported

The following hardware cannot be upgraded to Command 360 4.4:

• 8112 SBC Alpha FX or earlier
• Alpha FX with W9100 GPU
• Alpha FX Nexus
• Alpha FX Edge gen1
• CineLink 4K-D
• CineLink HD-D
• CineLink HD-E
