Playing Out Video Files

If your StreamHub license includes the Playback option, you can play out MP4, MP4F, and MOV files forwarded by field units or TS files recorded by the StreamHub to stream them out through one or several outputs. This can be accomplished in two ways, via the File Explorer in the navigation bar or in the File Explorer section in the Dashboard.

Navigation Bar

To play out a video file via the navigation bar:

  1. In the navigation bar, click on File Explorer.
  2. Select the folder corresponding to the field unit that transmitted the video.
  3. When hovering over each file in the folder, a playback button
appears to indicate that the file can be played. Click the
icon and select an input from the dropdown list.
  4. After the recorded file is assigned to an input, return to the Dashboard and click

    under the input thumbnail.

Dashboard

You can also drag and drop the video file toward one input in the Dashboard, providing that the input is free (no device, no profile, no booking):

  1. If the Encoders section appears in the Dashboard, click the
icon to switch the section to the File Explorer.
  2. Click the folder corresponding to the field unit that transmitted the video.
  3. Drag and drop the video file onto an available input in the Inputs section.
  4. After the recorded file is assigned to an input, click

    under the input thumbnail.

Note

You can connect this playback input to any Physical Output, IP Output, or Encoder, or use it as an input for the Multi-View.
