The MFX supports audio encoding of up to 4 stereo pairs (8 channels).

  • Mono: 12 to 288 kbps
  • Stereo: 14 to 576 kbps

Compression:

  • MPEG-2 AAC-LC, ISO/IEC 13818-7
  • MPEG-4 AAC-LC, ISO/IEC 14496-3

Frequency response:

  • 20 Hz to 22 kHz

Modes:

  • Mono-right
  • Mono-left
  • Stereo

Sampling rate:

  • 48 kHz


Embedded Audio

  • SD-SDI (SMPTE 272M)
  • HD/3G/6G/12G-SDI (SMPTE 299M)
  • HDMI – 1 stereo pair (2 channels)

The MFX includes the following video encoding features: 

Chroma sub-sampling: 4:2:0 or 4:2:2

Color depth: 8-bits or 10-bits per pixel

Color space: BT.709, BT.2020 (WCG)

Compression:

  • 264/AVC (MPEG-4 AVC part 10, ISO/IEC 14496-10)
    • Profiles: Baseline, Main, High up to Level 5.2
  • 265/HEVC (ISO/IEC 23008-2)
    • Profiles: Baseline, Main, High up to Level 5.1

Configurable output frame rate (decimation, interpolation)

Dynamic range: SDR and HDR (HLG or PQ/ST-2084)

Encoding cores: 2

GOP framing: I, IP, IBP, IBBP, IBBBP, IBBBBP

HD/SD de-interlacing

Maximum output: up to 2 x 1920x1080p60 or 1 x 3830x2160p60

Rate control:

  • Capped variable bit rate (CVBR)
  • Constant bit rate (CBR)

  • 1280x720p @ 60/59.94/50/30/29.97/25/24/23.98 frames/sec
  • 720x576i @ 50 fields/sec *
  • 720x480i @ 60/59.94 fields/sec *

* Only for native HEVC output (must be de-interlaced for H.264 output).
