Creating a Makito Hublet Preset

The Haivision Hub Preset Creator allows users to configure encoder settings for the Makito X/X4 video and audio encoders and then store these for use in routing workflows with the Makito X Hublet. Presets are created for each type of encoder and only the presets appropriate to the model of encoder you select will be selectable in the Makito X Hublet.

Choose from the following tabs depending on whether you are creating a video or audio preset.

To create a Makito Video Preset:

  1. Click the New Preset button in the action bar towards the top of the screen.
  2. When the Create New Preset dialog opens, click the Video Preset button under Makito Devices.

  3. In the main pane under Basic Parameters, enter a name for the hublet.

    Tip

Use a descriptive name for the hublet so that your team recognizes it as the one to use for a particular asset or use case.

The main pane is then populated with the needed parameter fields.

  4. Next, select an Encoder Preset name.
  5. Under Encode Parameters, customize the settings as appropriate. These settings should match your device's settings (e.g., for your Makito, you could view an example at Makito Encoder Parameters).
  6. When finished, click the Create Preset button at bottom of screen.

To create a Makito Audio Preset:

  1. Click the New Preset button in the action bar towards the top of the screen.
  2. When the Create New Preset dialog opens, click the Audio Preset button under Makito Devices.

    Tip

Use a descriptive name for the hublet so that your team recognizes it as the one to use for a particular asset or use case.

The main pane is then populated with the needed parameter fields.
