Besides enabling the secure transport of your video content, Haivision Hub calculates and evaluates the bandwidth between the route's Hublets to determine the best paths to take. This evaluation considers the various possible paths that will achieve your given latency and reliability constraints.
You can configure a default latency setting so that any routes created will automatically have it specified.
Note
The individual creating the route can still override the setting using the dropdown menu, but this helps ensure that any alternate selections are a conscious choice.
A subscription's Latency configuration can be set to one of the following settings:
Improved Reliability (4 x RTT of each path in route) Default
Ultra-Low Latency (1.5 x RTT of each path in route)
Low Latency (2.5 x RTT of each path in route)
Round-Trip Time (RTT) is the time required for a packet to travel from a source to a specific destination and back again. RTT (measured in milliseconds) is used as a guide when configuring bandwidth overhead and latency.
To manage the Configuration:
On the side menu, click the Admin Area tab. If the tab is not visible in the side menu, click the menu icon and select the Admin Area option.
