Connected Facebook Account does not have Permission to Publish Video

Problem Description

When a Facebook Connection is set up and the associated Facebook account has video publishing permissions disabled, Connect will return an error and any streams associated with the Connection will fail.


To solve this, you first must remove the problematic Connect app(s) in Facebook. To do this:

  1. In Facebook, go to Settings & Privacy.
  2. Under Settings, select Business Integrations.
  3. Next to Haivision Connect Cloud, click the checkbox and click Remove.
  4. Review the popup and click Remove.

Then, in Haivision Connect, create a new Connection for each removed Facebook Connection that is associated with the Facebook account. When recreating the Connections, you will be prompted to give permissions. For help setting up Facebook Connections, see Adding Connections.

Once the new Connections are created, remove the old Connections from each associated stream and add the new Connections. For help adding Connections to created streams, see Modifying Connections.
