Last updated on Jul 05, 2022

To modify a stream's poster image click the Inserted Media icon  to open that panel in the Quick Access Bar. Each section of the Inserted Media panel is listed below.

Editing a Stream's Poster Image

Note

Depending on the type of stream selected, some options may not be available.

Poster Image

From among the Poster Image tabs , select the type of Poster Image to use with the stream:

  • (Service streams only) Click Service to apply the poster image from the associated service to the stream.
  • (Individual Service instances or Event streams only) Click Custom to choose your own poster image.
    • Click the icon to browse for the image you wish to use (supported formats are PNG and JPG).
    • Note that Use Auto Poster is disabled when using a custom image; enabling it will override any uploaded custom image.
  • Click None if you do not wish to specify a poster image. The stream will use the default Connect thumbnail image.

Enable Use Auto Poster to have Connect automatically replace a poster image with one automatically generated (based on the stream's content) when it becomes available.

Web Player Pre-Roll

  • Enable Use Service Pre-Roll or Use Event Pre-Roll (depending on the type of stream) to add a playlist that will play before the main stream. Click the icon to add up to three media files to the pre-roll playlist. By default, Service streams use the pre-roll playlist associated with the Service.
  • Enable the Skippable toggle to make the pre-roll playlist skippable by viewers.
  • Next to Pre-Roll Order, click Default to edit the order in which pre-roll media will play (Stream, Connection and Player Template).

Web Player Post-Roll

  • Enable Use Service Post-Roll or Use Event Post-Roll (depending on the type of stream) to add a playlist that will play after the main stream. Click the icon to add up to three media files to the post-roll playlist. By default, Service streams use the post-roll playlist associated with the Service.
  • Enable the Skippable toggle to make the post-roll playlist skippable by viewers.
  • Next to Post-Roll Order, click Default to edit the order in which the post-roll media will play (Stream, Connection and Player Template).

Note

Pre-Roll and Post-Roll playlists for Event streams do not have all of the same options as Service streams but instead have toggles that can be enabled, as shown in the example below.
