Creating a SIM Live Stream

Last updated on Jan 31, 2022

Simulated Live, or SIM Live, is the scheduled replay of an earlier recording without rewind/fast forwarding functions to mimic a live event. It allows you and your team to schedule the Live Chat team so that they will be available to your audience.

Important

In order to proceed, you will need to have added the media asset you plan to use for the event in your Media Library.

To create a SIM Live stream as a new Event or Quickstart:

  1. On the sidebar, click the Streams tab.
  2. Click the Schedule an Event Stream or Quickstart a Stream button.
  3. The assistant, or wizard, will ask you to associate the event with a campus. As this is a simulation and not an actual event occurring at a location, choose either an online campus or the main campus.
  4. When prompted to identify the source for the stream, click Media   to switch the slider from Device to Media.

  5. Click the video asset you want to use for the event.
  6. Continue responding to the remainder of the assistant's questions.
  7. When asked to review the event and verify the settings, confirm that the Source is listed as Simulated Live.

  8. Click the Add Event Stream button or, in the case of a Quick Stream, click either the Start Stream or Cue Stream button.
