Adding/Pairing a Device

Use the Device cards to add the various streaming devices used by your organization. The cards are organized by the campus where they reside. Click a card to view pertinent device information such as:

  • Device Info regarding the Designation or Name as well as the Campus Location.
  • System Info such as Device Type, Serial Number, Firmware version, IP and MAC Address, and Availability.
  • System Status including Memory, CPU, and Storage utilization.

Connect supports the following Haivision devices that can be added/paired to your Organization:

  • KB Encoder
  • Makito X4 Encoder
  • Makito X1 Encoder
  • Makito X Encoder

To add/pair a device, select the appropriate tab for the device you want to add:

  1. On the  Organization tab, click the  menu on the quick access bar and choose Devices.
  2. Click the + in the top right corner of the screen to start the Add a Device assistant.

  3. Switch to a new browser window or tab, sign in to your KB device with the administrator account.
  4. Click the  menu and click Administration.
  5. In the menu on the left under Remote Management, click Haivision Connect.
  6. Click the Enable toggle to ON.

  7. Switch back to the Connect screen and click Next.
  8. Click the Copy Pairing Code button.

  9. Switch back to your KB screen, and paste the code into the Passcode field, and click the Pair button.

  10. Switch back to the Connect screen and wait for the device to be found. Click the Next button.

  11. Confirm you are pairing the correct device. Click the Next button.

  12. Name your device and select the input to stream from. Click the Next button.

  13. Select the campus where the KB is located. Click the Next button.

  14. Review your device settings, and click the Add Device button.

A device card is added to the organization for the newly added KB.

  1. On the  Organization tab, click the  menu on the quick access bar and choose Devices.
  2. Click the + in the top right corner of the screen to start the Add a Device assistant.

  3. Switch to a new browser window or tab, sign in to your Makito device with the administrator account.
  4. Click the  icon.
  5. Click the Settings tab and click Services.
  6. Click the Haivision EMS toggle to ON.

  7. Switch back to the Connect screen and click Next.
  8. Click the Copy Pairing Code button.

  9. Switch back to your Makito screen, and paste the code into the Passcode field, and click the Pair button.

  10. Switch back to the Connect screen and wait for the device to be found. Click the Next button.

  11. Confirm you are pairing the correct device. Click the Next button.

  12. Name your device and select the input to stream from by clicking on the ... button. Click the Next button.

  13. Select the campus where the Makito is located. Click the Next button.

  14. Review your device settings, and click the Add Device button.
