Updating the 8113 SBC BIOS
This topic is about updating the BIOS of the 8113 SBC on a Site Manager or Alpha FX appliance.
Important
Before continuing, please note:
- Do not attempt an upgrade without direct instructions and support from Haivision.
- Any currently installed systems (Windows, CineNet/Command 360) on system SSDs will be rendered inoperable following this update. A reinstall of the Windows environment and subsequent software (Command 360) is required. Do not proceed without the appropriate tools to reinstall the Windows environment and Command 360.
Upgrading the 8113 SBC BIOS
To upgrade the SBC BIOS:
- Power down the system.
- Remove the SSD and/or any other bootable material.
Insert the USB flash drive containing SBC BIOS files.
Note
Ensure the folder titled Update_FPT_ROBO-8113VG2AR-Q170-KBL-CIN_0_0_6 is on the USB flash drive.
- Power on the system. It will boot into PowerShell.
At the PowerShell prompt, type “fs0:” and then press ENTER to redirect to fs0.
Note
If other file systems are connected, the USB flash drive may be fs1: or fs2:
- Confirm the appropriate files are present. To do this:
- Type “dir” and press ENTER. A directory listing the contents of the drive appears.
- Confirm that the GO.nsh and X.ROM files are present.
- Type “GO.nsh”, press ENTER and follow the prompts.
This process will take 10-20 minutes. During this time, the system will reboot several times. As many as 4 to 5 reboots is normal. When the upgrade is complete, the system should power off. - With the system powered off, remove the USB flash drive.
- Insert the system SSD.
- Proceed with system rebuild or MDT process.
- Repeat the process for other machines as needed.
