Downloading and Installing Haivision Helper

Haivision Helper is usually installed by IT administrators, but anyone with the proper login credentials can download and install the app manually.

Downloading Haivision Helper

To download the Haivision Helper installer:

  1. In a browser window log in to the Haivision Support Portal.
  2. In the search box enter "Haivision Helper" and click the Search button.
  3. Click Files in the left column to show only files available for download.
  4. Locate the latest Haivision Helper version, click on the appropriate OS package: Apple User, Apple Enterprise, Windows User, or Windows Enterprise.

    Tip

    Click the "Last Modified Date" column header to sort the listings by date to easily locate the latest version.

  5. Click Download.

A .zip archive is downloaded to your computer.

Installing Haivision Helper

Single User Install

To install Haivision Helper for a single user:

  1. Extract the downloaded .zip file using a zip file utility.
  2. Run the appropriate installer and follow the instructions.

    Important

    When switching between the User and Enterprise versions of Haivision Helper, or vice versa, the current version must be uninstalled first.

After installation, Haivision Helper starts automatically when a user logs in to their computer.

Enterprise Deployment

To deploy Haivision Helper in an Enterprise system:

  1. Extract the downloaded .zip file using a zip file utility.
  2. For Windows systems, deploy the Haivision Helper enterprise .msi file via msiexec directly or using SCCM with group policies, in the manner prescribed by Microsoft.
    For Apple systems, deploy the Haivision Helper enterprise .pkg file using your chosen MDM solution. 

    Important

    • Administrator privileges are required to install the Enterprise version of Haivision Helper.
    • When switching between the User and Enterprise versions of Haivision Helper, or vice versa, the current version must be uninstalled first.

After deployment, Haivision Helper will run on login.

The default Haivision Helper installation path is shown below. For the Enterprise versions, see Advanced Deployment Options to customize the location.
